The Visita Iglesia App

CEBU, Philippines - Living up to its thrust of developing relevant and informative mobile applications for smartphones and tablets, the Cebu-founded digital publishing firm InnoPub Media recently rolled out an updated version of its “Visita Iglesia” app.

The mobile suite is a digital guide that hosts information about different heritage sites and religious structures in Cebu. It works to complement the “Visita Iglesia” tradition during Holy Week (on Maundy Thursday) by helping devotees learn more about the churches they intend to visit this year.

Compatible with handsets running on Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) or higher, the app hosts comprehensive information on the histories of different churches based in the province – and also provides “how to get there” guides and other pertinent information.

A part of the Digital Tourism program of Smart Communications Inc. and InnoPub Media, the church component of the program has the endorsement of the Archdiocese of Cebu. (YRST) (FREEMAN)
