Global Running Brand in Cebu Cobra Ironman 70.3

CEBU, Philippines -  The Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines held in Cebu last Sunday, August 3, is one of the biggest in Asia participated in by thousands of triathletes from around the globe. Participation in the event extends beyond the triathletes themselves to supporters from athletics-related industries. It is such a good venue for top brands to reach target markets.

Saucony, the award-winning performance shoes brand preferred by today's elite runners, supported Team Herbalife and Team Trimac. According to Precy Santos, marketing manager of Saucony, "After the success of Saucony's partnership with Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines last year, we're very happy to be on board once again for this event to support the triathletes and our brand ambassadors." Triathletes from both Team Herbalife and Team TriMac wore the Saucony Type A6 and Fastwitch 6 racing flats in this year's Ironman event. Earlier, these racing flats were also showcased in the triathlon expo at the Shangri-la Mactan's Marquee Hall from July 31 to August 3, along with Saucony's range of top-rate shoes - the Omni 12, Triumph 11, Peregrine 4, and Kinvara 4.

Prior to this year's Cobra Ironman 70.3, Team Herbalife's Danny Balandra tested Saucony's Type A6 in the recent Mayon 360 80km ultra-marathon. "The additional cushion is softer and better for longer runs," he said. "It's even lighter, and toe-off is responsive… This marathon was the longest run I did using a racing flat, the [Saucony] Type A6, and I did very well with the time of 8 hours and 33 minutes, ranking 24th over 396 finishers."
