The unknown Samurai

Jire B. Patindol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - In the city of Kyoto in Japan, a person named Edwin volunteered to be a Samurai. But during the training, he did not pass. He pleaded and pleaded with the trainers, but was not accepted.

“How I wish I could protect the world,” he said to himself. That night he stayed awake thinking of a way. Then he said, “Aha! Time to be a Samurai!” and went to the training center.

Edwin practiced alone, and practiced so hard to learn every skill of a true Samurai. By morning, the trainers declared him qualified to be a Samurai. He picked up his sword and set out.

That same morning, all the Samurais prepared for war. In a few minutes, the war began. The Samurais were losing. Just as almost all the Samurais were falling on their feet, one more Samurai came. It was Edwin.

Edwin expertly fought with the enemy. He defeated them one by one. When the fighting was over, there was complete silence. Those that survived didn’t know him.

Then they started asking, “Who are you?” Edwin smiled, and calmly showed his Samurai badge. Every one cheered. They were proud to know him.
