Cebu Pacific Christmas party cheers up Typhoon Haiyan survivors
CEBU, Philippines - The Philippines' leading low-cost carrier, Cebu Pacific brought fun and laughter to Typhoon Haiyan survivors when they visited Tacloban on Christmas day to spread holiday cheer.
Cebu Pacific executives and volunteers flew to Tacloban on December 25, and, with the help of local partner Eastern Visayas State University, made Christmas happier for everyJuan in Tacloban. A number of talented performers even volunteered for the special event after finding about it through Cebu Pacific's Facebook fan page.
"The recent typhoon proved that the spirit of bayanihan is alive in every Filipino. We are thankful to everyJuan who volunteered and supported our Haiyanihan efforts, so we can, in our small, simple way, uplift the spirits of those in Tacloban," says Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific VP for Marketing and Distribution.
Titled "Pasko ni Juan sa Tacloban," the one-day event treated 800 guests to a merry holiday feast and an exciting lineup of festivities. The day started with a Christmas Mass. Then, as no Christmas celebration is complete without entertainment, the Cebu Pacific team and volunteer performers regaled the Taclobanons with special Fun Games, Christmas carols and performances.
Throughout the special fun day, snacks from Universal Robina Corporation and Bigboy Hotdog were overflowing for the guests and their kids.
To make their holiday feasts even more magical, Tacloban residents also received learning kits for the kids, as well as Noche Buena packages and snack bags containing El Real spaghetti and macaroni, Jack 'n Jill biscuits, snacks and candies, C2 Cool and Clean, OMJ drink, Nissin cup noodles, and Great Taste coffee. Summit Media also pitched in with Yes! Magazine issues and books for kids, to make the season merrier.
It truly was the season for giving, especially for the JG Summit group of companies. For photos of the event, visit Cebu Pacific Air's official Facebook fan page.
