How you can help the survivors of Yolanda?

The Freeman

Do your part and HELP! Here's how:

* Financial support.

Share your allowance for Yolanda victims. You can break your piggybank and spare some amount to those in need. Hand any amount to your parents and share with them your intention to help. Charities and nongovernmental organizations (ie The FREEMAN Foundation) are accepting monetary donations aside from relief goods.

*Influence.

Your friends or classmates can pitch in, too. Ask them to do the same for the victims. Together, we can make a strong impact.

* Donations in kind.

Used clothes and toys, food, blankets, medicines, water, hygiene kits, among others.  Drop them off at the nearest drop-off centers.

* Visit the evacuees from Tacloban  in Brgy. Cogon Ramos gym, Brgy. Tinago gym, Mactan Benito Ebuen Air Base, etc. You can directly bring your relief goods there. Listen to their stories and comfort them in any way you can.

*Volunteer.

Offer your time to relief operations such as repacking of goods. It's more fun if you're with your classmates and family. (Relief centers: The FREEMAN Newspaper office along V. Gullas corner D. Jakosalem Streets; DSWD along Brgy. Carreta; Cebu Capitol, Sacred Heart School old campus - c/o Gawad Kalinga - along General Maxilom Avenue). Get involved!

*Pray.

Yes, there's power in prayer. Continue to pray for the affected communities, the survivors and the volunteers who are on the ground to give aid.

Remembers, a little effort can go a long way! (FREEMAN)
