Asia’s Hottest Art Fair came to Cebu

PEOPLE PLACES - The Freeman

Last September 19 to 23, Qube Gallery at the Henry Hotel in Banilad, joined in celebrating the 5th year of the famed Manila Art fair, displaying works from over 30 art galleries from all over the country. The ManilaArt Caravan’s mission of promoting Filipino national culture and arts locally, as well as on a global scale, include Qube Gallery in Cebu City to be its first ever destination outside the nation’s capital.

Though Qube Gallery’s primary goal is to reinforce a cognizance of the VisMin’s art scene, the effort of Jon Gotiong and Maris Holopainen to bring the ManilaArt Caravan to Cebu hopes to inspire more local artists and art lovers, and encourage them to elevate their standards in art production and appreciation.

Hundreds of art lovers, collectors and enthusiasts poured into Qube Gallery at The Henry Hotel last September 19 to witness the variety of art pieces brought in from all over the country. The artists who exhibited included Arturo Luz, Amihan Jumalon, Jana Jumalon Alano, Boboy Buenaventura, Sam Penaso, Vidal “Ondo” Alcoseba, Norma Belleza, Paco Gorospe, Wyndelle Remonde and Azor Pascoguin.

Qube Gallery has branches in Persimmon Plus, MJ Cuenco, Mabolo and The Henry Hotel, No.1 Paseo Saturnino, Maria Luisa Road, Banilad. For inquiries, call 512-1921 or visit www.qubegallery.com
