The Elegant Soiree Beaujolais 2012

The Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Festival has truly evolved from being a French tradition to becoming a worldwide phenomenon. Here in Cebu City, this much-anticipated social gathering converges the French community and the glittering society people at Cebu City's finest - Marco Polo Plaza.

With this year's theme "Monte Carlo", the Marco Polo Plaza Grand Ballroom was abuzz with excitement as it became or transformed into a casino. I was given a slot machine, all my own, and if my winnings were converted into real money, I would have easily won Thirty Three Thousand grand prize! Magicians flown in all the way from France provided world class entertainment as they showed spell-binding acts.

But what brought the house down was the presence of singer Giselle Sanchez who titillated the audience with her antics and singing. And not only that, the event was hosted by the country's top celebrity host Mr. Johnny Litton! Master cheesemaker Mr. Richard Poirier graced the occasion. After which, raffles galore with outstanding prizes including a chance to win 60,000 worth of Asia Miles to any chosen destination.

One thing noticed during the Soiree Beaujolais…everybody was dressed to the nines. And Marco Polo Plaza's GM Hans Hauri was dapper in his white suit. The affair was truly glittering!
