The lord who cares foundation
"This school is a establishment for the vulnerable youths who are prone to injustice due to poverty and troubled homes. Through the years of prayers and service to a nation with a vast population of unwanted children, The Lord Who Cares Foundation (opened in 2009) for youth welfare and transformation have benefited these youths in the best possible way," shares school founder Valeoni Suico.
In connection to the Holistic Life Preparedness Program (HLPP), the flagship project of the foundation, along with DepEd competencies, this school is an intervention for young people ages 15 to 25. Data are extracted to influence policies in meeting with the target group's distinct educational, spiritual and livelihood preparedness needs. "Our students come from very poor families. Many of them have been pushed to engage themselves in subhuman trades or raised in unimaginable conditions due to family disintegration. It's very sad," Suico explains. "The faculty is passionate in helping each child discover his/her preciousness and remove their vulnerability to injustice along with employability through high school diploma completion and skills training. This is how our students will benefit from it.”
The Lord Who Cares Foundation's students embrace a culture of godliness and righteousness that results to an understanding of life's direction and meaning. "I believe that God's fingerprints in the school are students breaking free from pain manifested through freedom from drug addiction, homosexuality, frat affiliation and many other issue that stop our youths from pursuing their future careers."
For the school curriculum, students are required to cover competencies mandated by a DepEd Tech Voc High School. "But our strength includes a passion to help these youths crossover from injustice right through to the other brighter side of life. I believe that using God's word, we are serving a population who were exposed to communities where spiritual and morality boundaries were not necessarily modeled together," Valeoni explains. "And for the sake of survival, our students have become helpless due to their faulty thought patterns on self-worth and dignity. Thus, HLPP is addressing spiritual needs in order to sustain their development through biblical literacy. We however, don't promote religion at the school but introduce a closer relationship with God."
Through the years, The Lord Who Cares Foundation has seen its students transform into people who show a lot of potentials. "Our alumni are not only mostly employed but have become have become assets to their workplaces. This population is special and should definitely be considered an asset to our nation because our study shows that our students have set their hearts to be the family or co-family breadwinners. Plus, our employed alumni use a great portion of their earnings for the education of their younger siblings. I believe that they are strategic people for investments because their productivity creates another bridge from one sibling to the next."
