The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  In time for the opening of its Christmas specials and festivities, the triple-A Alegre Resort in Sogod, Cebu, awarded its Top Producers for 2012 through a white party by the poolside on November 23 with a theme “Starry, Starry Holidays in Alegre”.

The event was kicked off by a unique Star and a Belen Lighting Ceremony to welcome the Christmas season, spearheaded by General Manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin, Board of Directors Lilian Lam and BjayJuntilla and Sogod Mayor MonyeenDurano-Streegan. Hundreds of bright star decors and tivoli lights are scattered around the resort and charmingly served as the main light source during the entire event.

National Grid Corporation, Accenture and Julie's Bakeshop were awarded as Top Producers for corporate segment as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Awardees for the E-Channel segment included Expedia, Agoda and Booking.com, while Attic Tours, Philippine Travel Factory (PTF) and PTN Travel made it to the Top Producers for Wholesalers list. Special citations were given to the Cebu City Treasurer's Office and Grand Turismo as Top Government Account and Rookie of the Year.

One of the night's highlights was the announcement by General Manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin on the groundbreaking schedule of the resort's expansion site within its 44-hectare property. Alegre is adding up a total of 44 rooms and villas, new facilities, conference and events center and other iconic structures by year 2013. At the same time, existing rooms and other facilities are all set for renovation during the first quarter. (FREEMAN)
