Google Glass:A head-mounted device, unofficially dubbed as a "wearable computer"
CEBU, Philippines - Even though it is still in its development stages, Google's Google Glass has effectively managed to rake in a significant amount of attention, given the device's overall inclinations in being a "head-mounted display", along with its potential in being a "wearable computer".
Though reports note that the folks involved in its development aren't keen on having the product dubbed as "augmented reality" glasses or "wearable computers", the device is essentially primed in facilitating the hands-free display of information, somewhat making it a mobile phone or a portable computer which users don't have to pull out from their pockets, rather wear them like they were a pair of glasses.
With prototype versions of the product already up and about, reactions to the device have been generally positive, with many already anticipating its official release within the next couple of years.
As we don't exactly encounter a new product category being born on a regular basis, Google Glass is quite promising as a product, one which stands to be as phenomenal as the Walkman, portable mp3 player, and iPhone were when they first came out. (FREEMAN)
