Sound charge:A shirt that doubles as a char

- The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - With the "Sound Charge" t-shirt prototype debuting in the 2011 Glastonbury Festival - one of the biggest music festivals in the UK - the shirt came from the combined efforts and eco-friendly advocacies of Orange (now a part of France Telecom) and GotWind (a major player in the renewable energy sources arena).

Working with a panel which acts as a "microphone", the Sound Charge shirt is designed with components which readily absorb sound, converting that sound into an electrical charge which is stored in a power reservoir in the form of a battery.

With that battery linked to an output port, Sound Charge shirt wearers can readily charge portable devices like mobile phones or portable media players.

Working with existing sound-based technologies, the shirt is quite impressive in its overall operational scope, primed in allowing its wearers to readily and conveniently charge the batteries of electronic gadgets and gizmos. (FREEMAN)
