Apple's Mountain Lion officially released

CEBU, Philippines - In what has been dubbed by countless netizens as an "impromptu official release", Apple's anticipated Mountain Lion operating system (OS X 10.8) officially rolled out last week, now-available via Apple's online Mac App Store.

Highlighting more than 200 new features, the new OS X version comes with comprehensive iCould integration, along with system-wide file and data sharing support, Facebook integration, integrated Mac App Store support and an updated Notification Center.

Also featuring AirPlay and Game Center, the new OS X also highlights an updated Messages (with iMessages), which comes with enhanced support for iPod touch, iPad and/or iPhone communications.

Integrated support for third-party online services such as Vimeo, Flickr, Twitter and Facebook simplifies the rudiments involved in the uploading of images and videos on social networks and online storage portals, as Mountain Lion's Mail, Messages, Reminders, and Calendar are built with system-wide integration, unifying alerts and scheduled notification reminders.

With enhanced iCloud support, users of the new Mountain Lion could easily upload and synchronize pertinent personal information, keeping schedules, alarms, contacts, appointment details and reminders unified across various iCloud supported devices.

Unified and updated synchronization of files and documents are also features supported by the new Mountain Lion (via iCloud), coming as an edge for its enhanced office and productivity solutions set for Mac users.

Tagged at $19.99, the new OS X Mountain Lion would be somewhere around Php 850. Those with Macs running on OS X 10.6.8 or later can readily update to Mountain Lion via Apple's Mac App Store.
