BB OS 7.1 update released
CEBU, Philippines - Announced to be on its development stage a few weeks back, the BB OS 7.1 update is officially out, which means that BlackBerry Bold 9900 users can now update their mobiles with additional functional/feature benefits.
Though far from being a through overhaul, the 7.1 software upgrade highlights the transition of dormant radio features into becoming active (for applicable featured devices).
The update also updates Near Field Communication (NFC) features for NFC-capable BlackBerry mobiles, facilitating the convenient transfer of information between mobiles through tap gestures.
The update also simplifies internet connection sharing between devices, allowing BB Bold users the capacity to use their mobiles as “mobile hotspots.” Working with wireless Wi-Fi technologies, the feature allows up to five wireless connections, allowing internet sharing features between BB mobiles and Wi-Fi enabled gadgets.
BBM is also reported to come with cosmetic enhancements, with more chat bubble colors and animated avatars for users to use.
Users can update their mobiles via the BlackBerry Desktop Software Suite, a working computer system, and the bundled BlackBerry USB/Data Cable. Optionally, users can also have their BB mobiles serviced for the update, should software updates be covered as an after sales service feature by their BB unit providers.
Regardless of how users would go with the update, backing up contact details, settings, messages and other stored data before the update process would already go without saying.
Details related to the update, with update options, instructions and on-hand requirements can be found in the official BlackBerry Philippines site. Drop by ph.blackberry.com/update or ph.blackberry.com/support for more information. – (FREEMAN)
