Summer Workshop
CEBU, Philippines - School is out and summer is in full swing but that doesn’t mean that you can’t keep busy.
One of the best things about all this free time is that you can put it to good use and learn something new. Think out of the box, about anything that’s taken your fancy and about how much fun it would be to try it out. Cebu is teeming with new and different workshops, from classes that teach the arts such as singing and dancing, to something a little more novel like cooking or Capoeira – the possibilities are endless. If you are looking to pull a “Mia” from The Princess Diaries and are hoping to bring out a more dramatic change in you before the school year starts again, then a personality development workshop may just be up your alley.
The Wicked Sisters Summer Workshop 2012 did just that with their first batch of students last April 30 to May 6. They offered a range of different modules for everything a girl needs to turn herself into a well-rounded young lady, from Personality Development and Social Graces & Etiquette to the Art of Dressing, Public Speaking & Communication and finally, Poise and Projection. The workshop offers all these different modules in a young and fresh new way with guest speakers that have carved names for themselves in their respective fields of expertise such as Mia Arcenas, Jacklyn Uy, Mike Acebedo Lopez, Jude Bacalso, Jennifer Rodriguez-Martinez, James Go, Kurt Fick and others.
The first batch of students celebrated their recently concluded their workshop with a culminating activity at the SM Entertainment Center where they strutted their stuff down the runway in the summer collections of What A Girl Wants and Island Souvenirs as well as clothes from some of Cebu’s top designers namely Edwin Alba, Hanz Coquilla, Harley Ruedas and Rey Humberto Villegas. It was such a pleasure to watch the girls come out of their shells and turn into more confident young women that felt at ease on stage and modeling in designer clothing or addressing an audience as they did among their friends. The workshop was also made a success with the help and support of their sponsors, namely: GMA, Banana Babies Photography, Banana Book, Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Careline, Island Souvenirs, Citigym, Shandar Accessories, Vienna Kaffehaus, Colours Digital Foto, Graphic Star, Models Association of Cebu and What A Girl Wants.
With the month of May making its entrance, it’s time to make the most of it. Whether it’s attending a workshop or by simply trying something new for yourself, there’s no time like the present. So it’s time to seize your summer and let your inhibitions go.
