More fun in Phl with Lego

- Lola Elyang -

CEBU, Philippines - My generation grew up to loving Lego. We're such natural born builders. Give us Lego bricks and we will start building right away - from dogs and dinosaurs, houses and helicopters, alien pirate spaceships - we can create anything we can ever imagine!

So I hope that your parents, instead of buying you toy guns (encouraging you to shoot them dead in pretend play), would consider giving you the Lego bricks. With Lego, the more your creations come to life, the more you grow in a whole new way.

Lego comes from the Danish words "leg" and "godt" to mean "play well". Since 1934, it has beautifully and skillfully promoted creative play among kids and adults alike. Children develop creative skills, as well as their ability to come up with new ideas and imagine new solutions. Lego gives every child that unlimited creative fun - and the skills that will make them builders of tomorrow.

Anyone can be an artist, a builder, an innovator through a Lego brick.

Recently, SM City Cebu and LAJ Philippines in coordination with the Department of Tourism mounted a Philippine map with famous historical landmarks through these colorful Lego bricks.

It is at the Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu.

Through this exhibit, it was learned that creativity, fun, and quality are the essentials of each Lego set. The large product range offers age-appropriate play from the youngest builders aged 18 months, to teenagers, and even adults. All Lego sets motivate young and old to let their imagination run wild and free when building, playing, and exploring.

Why is playing so important?

This exhibit also educates the public that playing is the oldest way of learning. It is a childlike approach to investigate and understand the world and its relationships in an imaginative way. Children learn for life through play as they become more familiar with themselves and their environment. Playing with the colorful Lego bricks improve their reasoning skills and stimulate the creativity of every child. Furthermore, playing with other people enables them to improve their communication skills and their understanding of roles in society.
