Summer art school in SM

CEBU, Philippines - Enroll your kids at SM City Cebu's Summer Art School this summer. Workshops include Beginners Arts Crafts, Essential Drawing and Painting, and Advanced Drawing and Painting.

The Beginners Arts Crafts is designed for ages 4-7 to develop their creative interests in the visual arts and crafts. A nonacademic but wholesome approach in teaching this course will enable the children to understand that art should be enjoyable and must come within one’s imagination and resourcefulness. Workshop fee is only P4,000 inclusive of all materials.

The Essential Drawing and Painting is designed for ages 8-11 and specifically intended to provide the students with the introductory experience of learning the fundamentals of drawing and painting. It will introduce the student how to draw properly based on systematic approaches and proven academic applications. The course will also train the students to look at objects from an artist’s point of view and translate them visually in their own unique interpretation. A variety of media from graphite, charcoal, watercolor, collage, and mixed-media will be used to express creativity. Workshop fee is at P4,300 inclusive of all materials.

Advanced Drawing and Painting introduces professional skills & techniques required in creating simple and complex drawings and paintings. Important topics on how to improve freehand drawing, composition, shading, and color-mixing will be discussed thoroughly. The course will focus on watercolor painting and oil painting as expressive forms of creativity. This workshop is designed for kids ages 12 and up. Fee is only P4,500 inclusive of all materials.

Workshop happens every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning April 16 to May 18, 2012 at 10am to 12 noon at the Trade Hall of SM City Cebu. A Certificate of Completion will be given to the students during their Commencement Rites and Art Exhibit on May 19, 2012.
