Blanc Magazine Launch

CEBU, Philippines - “We all wanted to be on the cover of a magazine but thought it was impossible - so we had to make one!”

An online art compilation by a group of queer friends precipitated this fashion and lifestyle revolution that Cebu knew was already coming.

BLANC is an online fashion and art magazine dedicated to the underground youth, the vague and the implicit. Put up together by Cebu’s most artistic and experimental young minds, BLANC is the unconventional probe of the Queen City’s distinct chronicles on the latest in fashion, androgyny, art culture and streetstyle. It is the uncovering of Cebu’s rusty side.

The magazine officially launched last January 11, 2012 and uncovered Bee Urgello, Queen of Cebu, as their cover model to grace their first issue.

There are few magazine covers that make us pause, render us speechless or, conversely, incoherently liken our shrieks to wild coyotes, but the launching of an online magazine made us all that and more.

“Blanc Magazine Online will be the revolution the underground youth needs,” says Mike Yapching, Cebu Fashion Designer and Associate Editor-in-chief of BLANC. “It will become the platform for their talents and works of art. Our advocacy has always been promoting the potential of the youth.”
