CEBU, Philippines - Raising a two-month old baby boy with a man flames flirted his arms was poised to sacrifice a baby to the god called Baal. In the twinkling of an eye, the baby screamed, wriggling and writhing as he was gobbled up in voracious flames. An eight-month old baby girl slept quietly as parents fed her to ravenous crocodiles so their gods might be pleased.
In our civilized society, we cringe and tremble at the thought of turning babies into sacrifices. Yet we don’t have the conscience to stop a law that legalizes the sacrifice of babies. Sugar coating murder or infanticide, it comes with a fancy name called “Reproductive Health.” To justify murder or infanticide, it comes with a fancy rationale of gender equality and protecting the reproductive rights of women.
No matter how you look at it, no matter how you say it, you cannot change the spots of a leopard. You cannot change the color crimson. No matter how you put it — controlling birth, aborting birth and regulating birth in the name of gender equality, in the cause of reproductive health rights, in the rationality of population management — it is neither equality nor a right, nor management. This is not a political issue, not a religious issue nor an equality issue. Rather this is about committing abortion to the institution of the family. It is about threatening humanity. It is about provoking the wrath of the Creator of Life itself.
As hideous and grizzly as the throwing of babies to flames and crocodiles, it is the United Nations, no less, that is at the helm of sexual and reproductive health rights. In its millennium goals, the United Nations said that there is a “large body of evidence showing that sexual and reproductive health and rights are central to women’s ability to build their capabilities, take advantage of economic and political opportunities and control their destinies.” Gender equality liberates women with access to economic resources, giving them sexual and reproductive autonomy. Whatever these are, the irrationality of tampering with the reproductive capabilities of women subverts the very reason why God created Adam and Eve.
The Mind Of God.
The Bible says that the family originates from the mind of God. In Genesis 1:28, after God created man and woman, God told them to create a family. “God blessed them.” The family is a carefully created institution that God blessed directly. God created man and woman to institute a family and, from the family, create humanity. Any digression for man’s creation is abomination
Yet in what is a local version of the UN Millennium Goals, the Philippine House of Representatives passed House Bill No. 4244 or An Act Providing for a Comprehensive Policy on Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health and Population Development, while the Senate enacted Senate Bill No. 2378 or An Act Providing For A National Policy on Reproductive Health and Population Development. Both bills are inherently infirm and self defeating for how can you establish “responsible parenthood” when parents ae regulated from having children and women are allowed “to kill” their own babies. The shameful inconsistency is this, while abortion is penalized under the Revised Penal Code, the RH Bills puts a legal face on murder.
If responsible parenthood is the issue, the New Testament has clear, unequivocal guidelines in Ephesians 3:14 to 15 that the family is a divine concept where the apostle Paul wrote that “I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.” Responsible Parenthood is about bringing Christ in the center of the home where children honor their parents and parents don’t provoke their children to disobedience. Nothing in Scripture says that responsible parenthood is about controlling birth. What is written is that to abort and abhor children is irresponsible parenthood because it makes parents a failure in the stewardship of God’s creation.
If population management is the issue, the question is this: Why must the government blame its blunders in economic crisis to population growth? Precisely why God created man and woman so they can be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and for man to subdue everything in it. The issue is not population management but stewardship management. When laboratory tests show that a person has cancer, the ailing person cannot alter or tamper with the results. When corruption of resources and laws of those in authority are causing economic cancer, it cannot be altered into saying that population growth is the culprit. Ulcer cannot be treated with a glass of vinegar. The political ulcer and economic cancer of an ailing country cannot be treated with sour excuses and bitter alibis of population growth.
If protecting reproductive health rights of women is the issue, why legalize divorce, same gender unions and uphold gay rights when just like controlling the birth of children through contraceptives and “legal abortion,” these endanger the traditional nuclear family to vulnerabilities of extinction.
Where God created the family, Satan used governments and churches embroiled in pointless legalese arguments about equality, rights, population and abortion in confusion. It is but a small issue to throw babies to flames and crocodiles, in comparison to man wilfully creating laws that cause family breakdown, faith breakdown and societal breakdown. It only takes the voracious hypocrisy of creating a reproductive health bill to throw humanity to the ravenous appetite of extinction.
