Café Laguna, Mandaue Foam mark anniversaries

It seemed only yesterday when Dr. Ric and Lita Urbina invited us to the grand opening of Café Laguna in Ayala. How time flies, really. Now Café Laguna is not only a byword in excellent food but soaring mighty high. They have extensively expanded with the opening of Laguna Garden Café at The Terraces, Laguna Café in Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Dumaguete, SM City Cebu and Iloilo City, and the Lemon Grass. With the expert management of Lita, her hubby and children, expect Laguna Café to expand more, reaching as far as Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Anyway, last September 30, Café Laguna celebrated its 20th anniversary, serving their best menu “Fiesta Lunch Buffet” to their friends and clientele. And the Urbinas (Ric, Lita, Jill, Jet, Grace, Raki, Guia and John Paul) are proud to say that what started as a carenderia in Lahug 20 years ago has now grown to be Ayala Center Cebu’s anchor food establishment since it opened in 1994.

Little did we know that Mandaue Foam Furniture Showroom, the complete home store has already reached 40 years in the business. Yes, 40 years ago, our late dear friend, Mrs. Rosita Tong Uy (Nang Rosita to her close friends), opened the Mandaue Foam, a foam manufacturer in Cebu. Mandaue Foam then has rapidly grown by leaps and bounds over the last 39 years because of its commitment to provide its customers with quality and value for money products.

Robin Uy, one of the sons of Nang Rosita, is the man behind the success of the Mandaue Foam. Today, Mandaue Foam is one of the country’s top 1000 corporations and has over 17 factories and showrooms nationwide. Its trademark products include its signature Flex Foam and Hotel Quality Gala Bed Mattress.

Assisting Robin in running the company are AVP & COO Architect Rudy Galagar, Managing Director Ryan Uy, Executive Vice President Eveline Uy, and Assistant Operations Manager Jonathan Ho.

On the day of the anniversary celebration, Mandaue Foam’s model and loyal employees were given special awards for their years of dedicated service.
