Coachella Fashion in Cebu

- Kristine Gianna C. Roa -

CEBU, Philippines - The Coachella Music Festival has a desert setting (the city of Indio is a part of the California Desert), with daytime temperatures frequently rising to over 100 °F (38 °C). The festival enjoys little cloud cover or shade. The temperature drops drastically after sunset. In Cebu, we took Coachella indoors and replicated this music soiree with a fashionable twist!

COACHELLA: Music and Fashion soiree at the Wineshop last June 9, showcased Cebu's designers' Apple Flores' intimate collection in a private gathering. This was probably a favorite summer-ender parties in 2011! Hosted by Barbia Pacia, Coachella took off with beach and lingerie fashion modeled by Anya Ash, Doll Felisario, Zao Ramos, Alfred Tampus, and Karl Gabriel Bernus of Limelight Model Management.

Apple Flores, started to design cute preppy attires online until she ventured on designing swimswears because of the summer season chills. Besides being a proprietor of Dollhouse Cebu, Apple is a student of Advertising Arts in University of San carlos.

Wearing Jamie Zanoria, stylist K Vhum Miranda did a great job creating the Coachella lookbook with the models wearing the Cebu Young Designers Competition 2011 Finalist's accessories.

"We want to celebrate a night of music and festive," says creative director James Cañete. "We portrayed a fiesta-like event like those [of] other foreign places. We wanted to bring a night full of fun and laughter." Congratulations to James Cañete, Vincent Bermejo, Jay Castillo, and Sr. Gaby Palmer of the Wineshop Cebu who organized the event.
