Students from Camp Happy Kids Center show off their talents
CEBU, Philippines - After a month of summer classes, students of Camp Happy Kids Center took the spotlight with a memorable talent show. Proud parents and friends gathered at Victory Cebu last May 16 to watch their little ones shine on stage.
What made the event extra special was the fact that the kids hosted the talent show themselves! Although there were a few bloopers, as expected, the kids were simply adorable as hosts.
The afternoon started off with a song number by three-year-old Allan Benjamin Salazar who sang his own rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” followed by a guitar performance from John Henry Gregory Morales.
The Let’s Dance class definitely raised the energy levels in the room with their performances of Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” and Shakira’s “Waka Waka.”
During one of the show’s quieter moments, 5-year-old Allen Benedict Rama delivered a declamation piece entitled “Hair”, followed by Gabrielle Kei Machacon who shared the cut-and-tell version of the story “Joseph Had a Little Overcoat.”
Students from the Arts and Crafts classes also came out to the crowd with a bang. Aside from displaying their art works at the venue, they strutted on stage to show off their crafts, wearing colorful outfits.
Completing the line-up was the Glee Club who performed a medley featuring some of our favorite classics such as The Carpenters’ “Sing”, Michael Jackson’s “Music and Me”, and Abba’s “I Have a Dream.”
Camp Happy Kids Center was formed with one goal in mind—to capture the playful artist in your child. Situated on the 2nd floor of Enmore Residence Hall, the school formally opened on April 4, 2011. It offered an exciting variety of classes such as Creative Dramatics, Reading Readiness, Glee Club, Arts and Crafts, Speech and Drama, Let’s Dance, and Guitar Lessons.
Although classes are over and summer is gone, Camp Happy Kids Center is eager to come back next year with more exciting things to offer! (FREEMAN)
