Last Minute Summer Activities

CEBU, Philippines - Just a few more weeks to go and school finally returns! Exciting or not? What can you possibly do to make the most of the rest of your summer holiday?

1. Relax as much as you can. You can’t possibly go wrong by doing almost nothing if you feel that it’s worth getting all relaxed. Stay up late and get up late (or the reverse) if it makes you feel better.

2. Book a last minute holiday. You could either take the plane, boat or car. Plan where you would like to go and if it helps, you could check online or through a travel agent for the best deals and other fun ideas.

3. Take a drive around town and visit friends. There’s no better way to spend time than with your closest buddies 24/7 and not having to worry about curfews.

4. Swim, bathe in the sea and work up a nice tan. You may want to hire a boat and enjoy some water sports, too.

5. Read some nice books. There are many to choose from, even comics or magazines are alternatives if you opt for lesser words and more photos!

6. Spend endless time on the computer. Entertain yourself to some interesting websites. Remember that mom or dad would probably tell you to get off your PC once the new school year begins, so do take advantage of this!

7. Sort out clutter. It might bore you to begin with but who knows, you might come across some interesting items you almost forgot you had. You could also organize a garage sale to bring in some extra cash, what fun!

8. It’s never too late to learn, take up a last minute intensive class (i.e. cooking, singing, dancing, martial arts or even a language) and if you like, you may carry this hobby on even during the new school year.

9. Go and get a part-time job. There are some companies that would hire students to work a few days a week, this is available almost anytime of the year so it’s never too late to start searching for one if this interests you. What can you get out of it? It might be a good add-on to your CV in the future.

10. Do some shopping to keep your mind off things. Go for a stroll in the mall and look for some new items to add to your wardrobe, you may find some useful items for the new school year.

11. Watch a whole lot of movies that you’ve missed during the previous school year (run a marathon) together with eating junk food! You’ll realize that you can never have enough of watching good movies and eating junk food combined!

12. Make last minute school plans, get prepared for (or dread) the start of a new school year. Cross your fingers, hope for the best and make new friends!
