Shangri-La brings back la mien:A celebrationof noodles

CEBU, Philippines -  Noodle master Chef Sun Yi Li is back in Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa for La Mien: A Celebration of Noodles at the Tea of Spring which is ongoing until May 1, 2011. On his third visit, Chef Li rekindles the Cebuanos' love for noodles through daily noodle pulling demonstration at the alfresco dining area.

Chef Li will demonstrate the artistry of La Mien or "pulled noodles,": a lump of dough is repeatedly stretched and twisted and "noodle masters like Chef Li hand pull hundreds of long, thin noodles used for a variety of noodle dishes," said a press statement.

On the menu, of course, is his special noodles with beef, a true slow cooked delicacy of hand-pulled noodles cooked in a special beef broth. The special La Mien menu also includes: Noodles with Lobster Meat, Noodles with Abalone and Braised Spare Ribs La Mien Soup. Chef Li's noodle dishes are for lunch and dinner only starting from P380++ per serving.

Chef Li is a noodle chef of Golden Flower Hotel, Xian, China for seven years already, serving esteemed Chinese and foreign government officials.
