CEBU, Philippines - Its debut last year was successful that it deserves another installment this year. PLDT Small Medium Enterprise Group (SME) Nation’s Bossing Ako campaign aims to recognize top SME entrepreneurs and how PLDT contributed to their business’ success.
“We have witnessed many inspiring stories of entrepreneurs who have transformed their businesses with technology as the prime catalyst. Stories which are worthy of emulation, recognition and served as the inspiration for PLDT’s Bossing Ako campaign,” quipped PLDT SME Nation VP & Head Kat Luna-Abelarde during the 2011 launch held at Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu.
A new set of esteemed 17 Pinoy Bossings was introduced, whose “stories exemplify how a bold entrepreneurial spirit, persevering hard work, game-changing creativity, and the use of ICT solutions can turn a simple idea into a nationwide phenomenon,” Abelarde added. The roster of 2011 Bossings include: Cecilio Pedro of Lamoiyan Corporation, Sarabeth Salcedo of Baliwag Lechon Manok and Bbq, Cebu’s Steve Benitez of Bo’s Coffee, Cora D. Ong of CDO, Annabelle Wisniewski of Discovery Shores-Raintree Group, Bam Aquino and Mark Ruiz of Hapinoy, Joe Magsaysay of Potato Corner, Nelson and Siu Ping Par of PR Gaz Haus, Rey and Anais Lapid of R. Lapid’s Chicharon, Henry Lim Bon Liong of SL Agritech, Bobby and Jojo Claudio of Toby’s Sports, and Fred Moreno and Vina Morales of Ystilo Salon.
The launch also introduced local Bossings: Francisco David of 7D, Butch Carungay of Avatar, Alex Choachuy of Ben’s Lechon, Steve Kokseng of Harbor Dimsum and Blessilda B. Villo of Lolo Tinong’s.
PLDT SME also paid tribute to some Heroes: World-renowned Furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue in the field of Arts & Design, Atty. Mark del Mundo of International Justice Mission in the field of Civic & Social Action, and Governor Gwendolyn F. Garcia in the field of Public Service & Urban Development.
