CEBU, Philippines - After last year's uber-success of Parkmall's first bridal fair, a lot were clamoring for an encore. So Parkmall, where excitement never ends, obliged and again commissioned the Cebu Fashion Designers' Alliance - C.F.D.A. (Barbie Alvez, Edwin Ao, Ren Manabat, William Manahan, Protacio, Wendell Quisido and Marichu Tan) for another sure-hit collaboration that will hopefully lead to many a happy brides (and grooms too!)
The featured designers went right for the hearts of their customer, this time, those with a predilection to the Cebuano culture that blended elegant luxury with down-home comfort. The bridal fair opens this Saturday February 12 until the end of the month with a bridal show on February 27 at 5:00 pm.
Inspired in part by "the sight and scenes of Cebu," the aesthetes designed collections perfect for their smart urban customers who might want a romantic church wedding in exquisite embroidery or go modern with a beach or garden wedding. For the trip down the flower bedecked aisle, she'll put on one of Marichu Tan's bouffant embroidered gown with a plumed bustier or perhaps Wendell Quisido's exquisitely beaded voluminous gown. A chic layered and tiered mini dress from Edwin Ao or a short bouffant bustier dress with matching headpiece from Protacio might interest the modern bride for her resort wedding. Or perhaps she'll slip into a feather-light cashmere baby doll or an ivory pointelle jersey dress from William Manahan for hearthside lounging or the intimate reception.
As brides come in different shapes and sizes, Parkmall's Nupcias Cebuanas caters to her every whim like a ballerina inspired tutu wedding dress from Barbie Alvez or Ren Manabat's swirling rosette gown inspired straight from the blooms of Busay. The bonus prize? With all the smart-looking menswear the designers will show, the groom can look just as good as the bride. Bravissimo! (FREEMAN)
