When designer du jour Butch Carungay said he wanted Vudu to be the best looking nightlife venue in Cebu, the city was treated to an eclectic sophistication in contrast to Philippine mythology Avatar-style. The entire formula is beautiful and colorful. It was luxx at first sight! Non-smoking and al fresco areas are available and everything is trendy and luxurious.
When VUDU reopened in the first weeks of December last year, it became an instant hit! The iconic nightclub will now include a single malt lounge in Cebu and a diner - where no nightlife institution has ever done before in Cebu. ”It is five times bigger than the previous one,” claims JP Chiongbian, CEO.
Recently, Apl de Ap of the Black Eyed Peas did a benefit club tour last December with DJ Ammo. VUDUphiles get to meet the famous pop sensation in person as he signed copies of his mega-deluxe album, “The Beginning” an hour prior to his show. Proceeds of the show went to the APL Foundation, Pearl S. Buck Foundation and other beneficiaries.
Vudu Cebu will be celebrating their anniversary month in January. On their 10th Anniversary Grand Weekend, catch Maxie Perez, Marlon Orellano and Dj Jay Jung who will come all the way from New York to dish out hip-hop, RnB, Top 40 and mash-up hits. VUDUeoke Tuesdays will mark its official comeback on Tuesday, January 11, REPUBLIQ goes to Luxx with Mars Miranda and Marlon Orellano on January 15 and GP Reyes will be seen at the House of Luxxe on January 16, Sunday.
