CEBU, Philippines - Something quite quirky opened recently at the second level of Cebu’s ultimate lifestyle destination, The Northwing of SM City Cebu.

Fish18 is the latest lifestyle brand by the Loalde Group with a retail concept store that provide stylish and current fashion apparel, shoes, bags, accessories, gift ideas, and novelty items for both men and women. Backing the Fish18 shops (the flagship store is at The Northwing and more will open soon) is the Loalde name which has a varied history, including a couple of trusted family names behind it.

This season, the shop unveiled its own distinctive line at a small presentation, but decided to amp it up for soonest with a formal runway show. The collection was brightly colored: with successful pairings of neutrals with turquoise, purples and pinks, and hints of greens, persimmon and tomato reds, teals and grays.

I noticed knit ensembles on A-List’s Cybill Gayatin and Kaye Luym (yes they did the event) so particularly, in fact, in terms of comfort and style.

What Fish 18 brazenly announced was that it is a celebration of fashion, graphics, and urban culture, taking inspirations from the streets, the youth and its energy. And I couldn’t agree less. The collection has a “present” feel – a what’s new and what’s now. The new line demonstrated technical skill even with draped tops and dresses that opened like origami, and its love for technologically advanced fabrics showed in a flock print (based on various graphics), applied with high-frequency thermal pressure, and leather cut to resemble eyelet.

With style as its muse, Fish 18, not surprisingly, speaks to the clientele who has a genuine appreciation for it. As they merge creativity and wearability, aiming to give the valued customers the middle ground between both. Its urban aesthetic is youth and not age, making Fish18 ideal for anyone of any age, with a youthful state of mind, unafraid of self expression.
