CEBU, Philippines - The new year ushers in a lot of changes. Like a beacon of light, Clothes for Life designers at the Samsung Holiday Wear 2010 at The Northwing of SM City Cebu unleashed hues to watch out for this year. So as our celebrated director Junjet Primor announced – Lights! Camera! Fashion! Samsung Holiday Wear 2010 was a four-act enchanting carnival, with the collection featured here, as the finale. As the show progressed, anticipation ran high also. There were video cameras on booms and along the aisles. They even installed wind and smoke machines.
The biggest surprise was the clothes. Sexy? Of course! Luxe and more? I wasn’t the only one to be amazed. From the first look of this portion (Arcy Gayatin’s eggplant, gold, silver and aqua fabulous fluid dress) to the last, statuesque figure of Elvira Stehr strongly in Cary Santiago’s quasi pleated collection in ivory. In between were a scarlet lantern dress from Philip Rodriguez and an emerald green tiered column from Carl Miñoza. There’s more! Bubblegum-pink and lavender lace and chiffon dress from Philip Tampus and a fabulous Duchesse satin layered dress in pewter and purple from William Manahan.
For the finale, 30 models strutted down the runway in various offerings from Cebu’s Clothes for Life designers. And the applause they received was loud and plentiful but it paled in comparison with the joy and satisfaction the featured designers felt.
Cheers to a blessed New Year!
