A marvelous weekend with Fr. Fernando Suarez

- Bro. Odon Sabarre -

CEBU, Philippines - After the fascinating and marvelous revelations of the healing priest, Fr. Fernando Suarez, we called it a day at 2:30a.m.

Had breakfast at 8a.m. and was off to Tagaytay for his 9a.m. Healing Mass.

Celebrating the Mass were Fr. Francis Donnely from Canada, Fr. Jeff Shannon, Fr. Javy Javines and of course, Fr. Suarez.

Bro. Andrei Mc Kenzie from Canada and I, together with some local lay ministers, served also in the Mass which was attended by thousands of people coming from different parishes.

One of them was Ponciano Rosales, popularly called “Chitoy,” who is currently the general manager of SAMELCO (Samar II Electric Cooperative, Inc.) and the incoming Hermano Mayor of the August 24 city fiesta of St. Bartolomew of Catbalogan City.

He was diagnosed as a positive liver cancer patient in St. Luke’s Hospital last 2009 and was given five months to live.

During his confinement, Fr. Suarez was invited to administer a Healing Mass for St. Luke’s cancer patients which Chitoy attended. He attended three more Healing Masses of Fr. Suarez by coincidence in different venues in Metro Manila and by God’s grace and mercy, in his latest PET (position emission tomography) scan in St. Luke’s, it appeared that there are no more signs of malignancy of his liver cancer. Even his physician, Dr. Juliet Golez Cervantes, was amazed with the prognosis.

Part of his thanksgiving to our very good Lord Almighty, he invited Fr. Suarez to come to Catbalogan City for a Healing Mass, for all the Samareños and Leyteños in Region 8.

Celebrating the August 20 Healing Mass of Fr. Suarez was no less than the Bishop of Calbayog, His Grace, Isabelo Abarquez together with Msgr. Nards Quadalquiver, parish priest of St. Bartolomew Church. (FREEMAN)
