For the big boys

- Joey Cindy M. Semblante -

CEBU, Philippines - Hey Kids! Have you seen your daddy playing with your toy cars? Well I saw some daddies of the Cebu RC racing club playing with toy cars, but they were not claiming it as toy cars but as real cars. I wonder why they say that when they are not driving it but playing with it?

I’m talking about these cool miniature cars called the RC or Remote Control Cars. Daddies say they are not toy cars because you have to learn how to use these cars. Like a real big car, it also has an engine and little component parts that are needed to be reassembled and checked from time to time for these cars to enhance its agility to compete with other RC cars. But because daddies are too big to get inside the RC Car, they drive it through a digital remote control. That is according to the daddies I talked with at the Banilad Town Center while they were playing with their RC cars.

These daddies told me that these cars are not for kids yet, but as soon as you grow up you can have your own RC cars and enjoy playing with it, as well.

Because daddy is always tired from work, he would want to relax and playing with RC cars is the best idea to get him away from stress. Daddies find playing with RC cars like driving a real car in the race track beating another car.

The excitement of watching RC cars is the same excitement as watching real cars racing in a track. And like real cars, RC cars also have names depending on the car’s shape, size and form, some of these are the Mini Cooper, Short Course, Touring Cars and Off-road Cars. Daddies treat their RC cars as real cars, they change batteries and oils, as well.

So, kids, study hard, eat a lot, grow fast and soon you will drive your own RC Cars, and play with your daddies.
