Who would have ever thought that Catherine Elizabeth “Kate” Middleton, a local English girl who grew up in the village of Bucklebury in the calm and serene Berkshire countryside in South East England, could possibly be the future queen of England?
Right from the start, I have been one of many who have always admired Kate Middleton in almost everyway possible. Making a wonderful icon to the members of the public, Kate is portrayed as a kind, gentle and truly a people person.
Having lived in the United Kingdom for so many years of my life, reading the royal gossip is unavoidable and I have been aware right from the start on William and Kate’s relationship and how they have grown together as a couple since their early days at St. Andrews University in Scotland. I admit that I take so much pride in reading about the royals and never fail to fill myself in with all the updates.
Recently having shown off an impressive 18-carat oval blue Ceylon sapphire and diamond engagement ring (the very same ring Prince Charles had given to Princess Diana from jeweler Garrards in 1981), it is no doubt that we smile along with Kate as she held on to William’s arm. The media has endlessly repeated that Kate once said that “joining the royal family is a daunting prospect.” However, we all know that she would easily fit right in as she seems to already play the part perfectly well.
What I like best about Kate is that she dresses so casually but still carries herself so effortlessly sexy and glamorous despite it being just a simple pair of jeans. Having her very own independent character, she has treated William like a person and a loyal friend and not just like a royal figure that many would have expected her to do so. This I reckon is probably where they find comfort being together as a couple. Kate just always seems to bring out the best in her “prince charming.”
Both set into this amazing ride of wedding bliss, we can’t really get away from the overjoyed couple, who have recently announced that they will tie the knot on the 29th April 2011 at the Westminster Abbey. Their relationship has made such an impact on so many people. So yes, dreams sometimes do come true.
