Luxe Looks
CEBU, Philippines - “Not everyone wants to wear drop dead trendy with this season’s predilection to leather, tulle, and knit,” said model turn entrepreneur Melissa Basubas, whose Sasha boutique inside Luxe in Parkmall opened recently along with labels Tonic, M, Gladz Wish List, Converse, Adidas, Mars, Meg, Liz Jewelry, Icon, Kinz, Sold Out!, and Abisha. Thus Ms. Renee Rolette Tan, explaining the much varied turn Luxe shops took for the holiday, “in Parkmall’s Luxe, the latest in women’s apparel, shoes and bags, accessories and active wear ran along with the classics and are readily available for the discriminating buyer’s consumption.” That sounds like a line straight from a retailer’s mouth, and Luxe is wisely heeding a buyer’s perspective as it focuses the energies of these labels.
It factor or shall we say Luxe factor. It’s hard to define, but you know it when you see it, and it was on full display at Luxe as it opened its doors to the public. Coinciding with Parkmall’s 2nd anniversary, Luxe already made a big impression at its first show as statuesque models from M.A.C.>Models Association of Cebu donned the Luxe ‘catsuits’ and painted faces coherent with the Cirque theme. As a result, observers were zeroing into the spacious and cozy shops inside Luxe.
For a something quite new, buzz is a complex commodity and everyone’s buzzing about Luxe. It’s great to be lauded as the new shop, but if you don’t sell any clothes, your tree falls in a lonely forest. Fortunately though, Cebuanos are known for the bandwagon effect when something new crops up, thus, Luxe is riding in a crest of high sales and with its steady stream of de rigueur pieces, this should help make some consequential noise that’s louder than just buzz.
Bravissimo!
