All systems go for miss cebu 2011!

It’s all-systems-go for the Miss Cebu 2011! The Cebu City Government through the Cebu City Tourism Commission (CCTC) and Cebu City Tourism Foundation Inc. gathered some friends from Cebu’s tri-media at the Aegean Room of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino to officially present the 12 lovely hopefuls for the prestigious Miss Cebu 2011 title and to be the official representative and spokesperson of Cebu City. The lucky lady will be chosen on January 12, 2011, 6:30PM at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. Miss Cebu, which is usually held a few nights before the Sinulog festival, is considered to be one of the highlights of the biggest festival in the country.

Vying for the prestigious title of the next ambassadress of the City of Cebu are: Katrina Raye “Trina” Yuson, Kerrie Glad Arapoc, Rosemary Gore, Katrina Jane “Ina” Esmas, Benjielyn Rose “Benj” Ongluico, Teffanie Lene “Panyang” Llamada, Maureen “Mau” Gail Espina, Mia Zeeba Faridon, Junelyn “June” Bilocura, Erica Janine Tudtud, Vanessa Claudine Ammann and Aiko Lyanne Serrano. 

During the press presentation, the media were awed with the members of this year’s batch, who had the beauty and brains, as well. I’m sure the panel of judges will not have an easy task come January. 

Accounted for during the luncheon presentation were  the CCTC commissioners headed by CCTC Chairperson, Cebu City Committee Chair on Tourism, Councilor Margarita V. Osmeña, Cebu City South District Rep. Tomas R. Osmeña, Miss Cebu 2010 Reena Malinao and her court and Miss Cebu 2009 Kris Janson, among others. 

Marco Protacio is this year’s project chairman while the vice-chairman is Philip Rodriguez, who heads the production committee.  According to Philip, the committee on personality development headed by Commissioner Petite Garcia has prepared a series of seminars on business etiquette and personality enhancement, as well as workshops on Cebu history, culture and heritage. The candidates will also be attending various functions of Cebu City and the CCTC and numerous pre-pageant activities that have been lined up until the pageant date. The event will be aired live by Studio 23.
