Intimate, Memorable, Serendipitous

CEBU, Philippines - It was an unexpected late September event, but I could swear by the three princes of Serendip that the whole affair turned out better than expected.

The original plan was for the couple, Ana Flor Sonjaco and Oscar Moncayo, to tie the knot in a humble church wedding, but when their schedules could not meet with that of the church’s strict requirements, they decided to have a government official solemnize the ceremony, but at a venue that is just as wonderful and memorable as that in a church (although this option could always come at a later date).

Valencia’s Municipal Mayor, Ricky Gonzales, was on hand to tie the knot at Negros Oriental’s premier and enduring resort, South Sea Resort and Hotel.

It was an intimate gathering with just a few members of the family and friends to celebrate with the happy couple. The groom’s parents and siblings came all the way from the United States to celebrate with the couple, and the bride’s sister came home from the US, as well.

What made the occasion extra special was that on the same day, the couple’s first baby, the beautiful Ysabella, also celebrated her first birthday. What better way to be united.
