Belgium National Day

It has always been a yearly event – the celebration of the National Day of Belgium. And every year, the Ambassador of Belgium and Mrs. Christian Meerschman with Consul of Belgium and Mrs. Enrique Benedicto would host a cocktail reception at the Arctic Room of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. This time, Madame Meerschman couldn’t make it and so Ambassador Meerschman and Consul and Mrs. Benedicto welcomed all the guests coming from the consular corps, government officials and prominent Chinese businessmen of the Queen City of the South.

As usual, short speeches were delivered pertinent to the celebration of the National Day of Belgium. Cheers!

It was an exciting day for the sales and marketing team of the Cebu City Marriott Hotel (CCMH) when they visited Y101 FM and hyped up the M Day campaign. Friends from the press joined the celebration and sampled the new Executive Business Lunch menu at the Garden Café. All of the CCMH were ecstatic when Director of Sales & Marketing Dominic Dorol and Senior Sales Manager Rowena Sainz announced the results of M Day…after having tallied all accounts they closed on M Day, they reached 75 percent above their targeted goal. Wow!

Actually, all Marriott Hotels and Resorts across the Asia Pacific region celebrate “M Day – Making it Happen” on the last Thursday of every other month. It is a regional effort of Marriot Hotels and Resorts to celebrate success, close business in creative ways, hold customer events, develop teams that close group and catering contracts, cluster hotel efforts in the same location and most importantly, have fun. This is all for the purpose of making their customers understand that as Marriott, they add more value to their customers’ business and clients, provide more solutions, and rewards their loyalty with more Marriott Rewards points.
