The story of JJ and Mary Kay

CEBU, Philippines - JJ Farr is not a stranger in the world of makeup and skincare. She was exposed to such products at an early age and, working as a flight attendant for a top airline company, it was a must for her to look good all the time.

JJ shared that she has experienced using different kinds of makeup, from the very low-end to the high-end lines. “When I was only earning a little, I bought makeup that I could afford. When I started earning big, I also went for the top of the line,” she said, admitting that she never used one single brand.

Well, that was until she began using beauty products from Mary Kay.

 “I started with the lipstick first. And then moved to the foundation and then the skincare line until I gave up the other brands I was using. I have been using Mary Kay products for a year now,” she said.

Mary Kay is a trusted global name in skincare, makeup and body care. It was founded by Mary Kay Ash in September 13, 1963. Mary Kay has been in the Philippines for 10 years already.

JJ is one of the thousands of women who are part of the Mary Kay network. In fact, she recently signed as an Independent Senior Beauty Consultant. “I was convinced to officially join the Mary Kay family because I use the products and I believe in them. You can really see results,” she shared.

Aside from the quality of Mary Kay products, JJ said that what convinced her to be a consultant was the “Mary Kay way of selling,” which is to let prospects try the products first for themselves. “We always have a demo first to show the client how to use the product. A lot of beauty products seem not to work because most women do not use them properly. The Mary Kay way is to teach prospective clients and recruits how to use products correctly,” she pointed out.

Although Mary Kay is already a trusted brand when it comes to beauty and skincare, JJ hopes to introduce the brand to women who do not know about it yet and to those who think that Mary Kay products are expensive.

“If you think about it, there are a lot of benefits when you use Mary Kay. One is that you are assured of quality. The products are also especially made to suit a particular skin type. Like for example, products sold in Asia are made for Asian skin. You cannot also find fake Mary Kay products so you are assured that what you are getting is really of the best quality,” she said.

JJ also makes it a priority to introduce Mary Kay to women who have taken their looks for granted. “Being married and having kids do not mean that you can stop taking care of yourself. I want to open the eyes of these women and make them feel good about themselves. Feeling good, feeling beautiful and feeling sexy is very important, no matter how young or old you are,” she said.
