CEBU, Philippines - A new software will give teachers in the country “absolute control” of their computer laboratories by giving them full monitoring and access capabilities to their students’ workstations.
Bitdefender, creator of one of the industry’s fastest and most effective lines of internationally certified security software, has developed Faronics Insight, which aims to help teachers address the short attention span of students.
According to a statement from IPSYSTEMS Inc., attention span of students inside computer laboratories lasts around 15 to 20 minutes. This is a problem in a one to two-hour class, as “teachers are often unaware of what their students are doing inside the laboratory.”
“So having comprehensive control of their computers would definitely be a big help and benefit to them.”
With Insight, teachers can control the laboratory environment, which is prone to distractions especially when computers are connected to the Internet. They can opt to show only the ongoing lesson on the students’ screen, or remotely shut down any unnecessary programs being used by the students.
BitDefender solutions are distributed by a global network of value-added distribution and reseller partners in more than 100 countries worldwide. BitDefender is distributed in the Philippines by local IT (information technology) distribution company IPSYSTEMS Inc.
Meanwhile, MSI-ECS, one of the largest IT distributors in the country announced the opening of its first DigiCare computer service lounge and facility in Taguig to further accommodate service requirements for Acer, Apple, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung IT products.
The new facility was designed to be convenient for customers who are situated in neighboring cities as it is strategically accessible through public transport.
