Tablea Reinvented at TCC

Tablea Chocolate Café (TCC) at the Robinsons Cybergate Mall recently opened its doors to the public.

TCC founder Aya Garcia Shlachter, with the full support of hubby Larry, was actually influenced by the culinary artistry of her mom, Consul Armi Garcia, and the entrepreneurial vision of her dad, lawyer Sonny Garcia.

For years, Armi’s sikwate has satisfied so many friends and relatives that husband Sonny’s idea of making this highly sought-after sikwate could be the basis of a viable business for Aya. Thus last 7-7-10, Aya and her mom Armi led in cutting the ceremonial ribbon to open the café followed by the sprinkling of holy water by Fr. Aloysius Cartagena. The morning affair saw a lot of ladies, chocolate lovers who indeed didn’t mind the calories and cholesterol that go behind the tasty and tempting chocolates. This is especially so when the girls were served cinnamon sugar coated Churros paired perfectly with a cup of hot chocolate (sikwate puro). The FREEMAN’s Executive Lifestyle Editor Mayen Angbetic Tan declared: “No dieting for this day,” as she indulged in pure sikwate and churros.

From Aya, she’s inviting all to “experience our new Tablea creations, inspired by tradition and perfected by passion!”
