Shoot Up: A Video Production Workshop with Award-Winning Film Maker Ruel Antipuesto

-

CEBU, Philippines - Artist Ko or Artists and Musicians Cooperative brings to you SHOOT UP: A Video Production workshop with award-winning film maker Ruel Antipuesto. This will be on July 24-25 (Saturday to Sunday) from 9AM-5PM at The Outpost.

Ruel Antipuesto was the director, line producer and director of photography of the award-winning Cebuano film Confessionals. Some of his works have received international recognition and now he is going to share his knowledge in video production to Cebuanos through this workshop.

Most of the time, we get overwhelmed when we hear the term “video production” because we imagine right away that it entails a lot of money and fancy video production equipment. While this holds true for major productions like the ones in Hollywood, a good video production with limited budget and equipment is totally achievable.

This workshop aims to encourage more film makers out there not to be bound by the limitations that they see themselves in, but explore the countless possibilities that one can do despite these limitations.

SHOOT UP is open to everybody—aspiring film makers who don’t have a clue as to how to jump start their projects, musicians who are looking into coming up with their own music videos or webisodes (videos that you upload on the internet—like what some musicians do, Imogen Heap, Sara Bareilles or even our very own Cattski, to name a few), entrepreneurs who want to market their businesses through videos, and anybody who want to learn about video production.

The course outline includes: Lecture on Storytelling through video, Basic Cinematography, Introduction to video editing, Appreciating and making use of available technical resources, and Practical application.

The workshop fee is P1,000 for non-students, P800 for students and P700 for Artist Ko members. A 20 percent discount will be given to a group with a minimum of seven participants, inclusive of snacks. Participants are encouraged to bring whatever video camera they have whether this may be digital camera, handy cams or anything that could take videos since the point of this workshop is to learn how to utilize these resources regardless of technical limitations.

In this modern day and age, video is the most effective medium of communication, most especially in the internet. We have witnessed the success of video hosting websites such as Youtube and Vimeo and this is because it is a very entertaining way of communicating.

Get your message across through this powerful medium. Speak to your viewers and be seen as someone who should be taken seriously (or not, depending on what you are going for), above all give information while at the same time, entertain.

Empower yourself and shoot yourself up to greater heights. Be a part of SHOOT UP.

For queries and reservations, please email name and mobile number to [email protected] or text or call 09327798689/09173216429.

This workshop is brought to you by Artist Ko-Artists and Musicians Cooperative with special thanks to The Outpost, RCTV Channel 36 and The FREEMAN.
