CEBU, Philippines - Direct selling is an alternative to employment.
This is according to Direct Selling Association of the Philippines (DSAP) chairman and Amway Philippines Country Manager Ador Bonquin, who also emphasized that direct selling is an employment opportunity that can help anyone who is swamped in financial crisis. However, there’s always a downside to direct selling especially when affiliated with a devious company that takes advantage of its registered members, resulting to fraud, fly-by-night and pyramiding scams.
Enter DSAP, a trade and industry association of direct selling companies, with its newest nationwide campaign called Lakbay Hanapbuhay. The campaign aims to educate sellers on legitimate businesses on direct selling and network marketing, as well as promote these as some of the best income-generating options.
Lakbay Hanapbuhay is a certification course offered by DSAP that helps one to be more adept to the industry hence, professionalizing the industry in totality. Moreover, under Bonquin’s watch, DSAP is pushing for the approval of a bill that regulates the direct selling industry in the Philippines and seeks out to protect consumers from illegalities. DSAP has also recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Securities and Exchange Commission in support of the abovementioned endeavor.
DSAP members include Avon Philippines, Amway Philippines, Nu Skin, Unicity, and Tupperware, among other companies.
