SHANG'S EMBRACE

INTO THE SCENE - Han Kintanar -

Another noble and laudable project took place at the Loft last weekend dubbed Embrace: A Charity Party for the benefit of the Tingo Elementary School located at Barangay Tingo, a small coastal community in Olango Island across the resort.

Made possible through the efforts of Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa’s Food and Beverage Team, Corporate Social Responsibility Team and the management of Loft and The Penthouse and in cooperation with Bacardi and Alliance Francaise de Cebu, Cebu’s partyphiles all trooped to Loft as early as 9pm that evening to show support of what was called “the party with a purpose” for only P200 as entrance fee. No less than guest DJ Springmine Disaster from France flew into town and provided the party beat that evening all for the purpose of improving the facilities of Tingo Elementary School.

“Having fun takes on a new level when it also means extending a helping hand. We are thankful to all partners for making Embrace a dream come true for the Tingo Elementary School children. We are truly excited for these kids,” quipped Abdul Hafid, Shangri-La Mactan’s Director of Food and Beverage who, together with his co-organizers, are excited at the thought of making a new concept of clubbing in the metro and of course, with the thought of helping our less fortunate brothers and sisters specifically from Barangay Tingo.

Here are some photos of the metro’s beautiful faces with beautiful hearts, as well who gamely lent their presence for that worthy event. Cheers!
