CEBU, Philippines - Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu’s Family Day Out Package offers best value for a family of 10 or more wanting to celebrate a special occasion or simply spend a day bonding with the family at the beach.
For only P1,800 net per adult, the Family’s Day Out Package allows families to enjoy day use of the resort’s 350-meter private beach cove and access to any of the resort’s pools. The package also includes a picnic-style lunch served in an intimate set-up at Paradise Island by the beach or at the resort’s latest function area, the Ocean Terraces. Both venues have views of the Mactan Channel, enhancing the experience of a relaxing afternoon with the family. To complete a day of fun, families can enjoy three complimentary team-building activities facilitated by the resort’s sports and recreation team.
Families may choose any three from the following team-building activities: Team Relays and Races (Coconut Husk, Sack, Shadow Walk, Kayak, Aqueduct or Raft), Tug of War, Beach Volleyball, Spider’s Web Game and Nuclear Meltdown Challenge. The most popular programs include the Kayak Race, where teams paddle a kayak under time pressure from the shore towards a floating pontoon in the sea and back, and the Raft Race, which challenges construction, planning and co-ordination skills of family members as they are given materials to construct a raft, and successfully paddle out to the sea.
The Nuclear Meltdown Challenge tests leadership, co-ordination and psychomotor skills of a team, as they must successfully collect a "life-saving" serum without spilling a drop.
The Family's Day Out Package is offered until July 31, 2010. A minimum booking of 10 adults is required to avail of the package. After the first 10 adult guests, children aged seven to 12 years old are charged a fee of P900 each, while children aged six years old and younger are complimentary.
