Thirty-three kilometers from Cebu City, in the mountains of Balamban, lies the perfect hideaway for all those nature loving and adventurous at heart. Aptly named K33, it holds one, and perhaps the safest, of the zipline facilities in the province of Cebu.
Experience adrenaline rush as you zip through their 300-meter line in 30 seconds, and then back again for 220 meters at 40 seconds. That’s more than a minute of admiring the greenery around (while taking photos of yourself in the process)!
Not really fond of heights? You can hang out at their viewing deck that houses their snack bar, which serves only the healthiest refreshments such as fruit juices and shakes.
K33 is not only aiming at being a tourist destination, but they also aim at helping the reforestation and preservation projects of the mountains in Central Cebu. A percentage of the P200 that you pay for a zip goes to an environmental fund supporting their advocacy.
Barry Canton of K33 said they currently have plans of constructing a rappelling tower in the vicinity, as well as putting together nature walks around the area. This fully maximizes and lives up to their name of K33 A Green Adventure!
Members of the Cebu Tours & Travel Association (CTTA) were able to take part in this breathtaking adventure last May 8, 2010. They intend to promote the Central Cebu area (including the Ayala Nature Park, Tops) as a new tourist spot for both locals and foreigners ?.
