What's the sweetest thing you can remember about your mother?

CEBU, Philippines - Unlike Venus rising from the sea, today’s ubermodels didn’t just spring out from nowhere. What they’ve become now, their achievements, their right upbringing and of course their gorgeous physical attributes came from their mothers, and of course, their fathers. With Mother’s Day this weekend, we did an ambush interview armed with the query, what’s the sweetest thing you can remember about your mother?

Blinky de Leon (model / TV personality) –  Aside from making sure she cooks the right dishes for us, cleans up the house and checks on us, my mom never fails to guide and support me in the things that I do.

Angel Luzano (model / nurse) – The fact that my mom is also like a sister and good friend to me is just incredible. I don’t have a hard time opening up to her and we share secrets.

Sue Palacio (model / student) – Being new to modeling, my mom accompanies me to job assignments or asks my uncle if she can’t make it. And she is far from a stage mother, which I appreciate very much.

Hazel Ceniza (model / beauty queen) – I lost my father at a very young age. My mother played the role of both a mother and a father. It’s just the sweetest thing that she never thought of getting married again because she spends all her time for me and my sisters.

Elvira Stehr (model / young mother) – A few months ago I felt that the whole world turned their back on me and I felt I was all alone. My mom gave me a big hug and assured me that everything’s gonna be alright and she stayed with me the whole time.

Fern Medequillo (model / graduating student) – Like any individual, I went through a difficult phase in my teens. Despite peer pressure and other stuff that can mislead any young girl, I’m now in my last term in college and looking forward to a career in the tourism industry. I owe all these to my mother. Plus the fact that she wakes up early to cook for us even if she’s dead tired. She still manages to find time to brush my hair and ask if everything is alright with my life.

Jonielyn Alburo (model / student) – I like modeling a lot and it just came unexpectedly. I also love my nursing course which I balance with modeling. I also love hanging out with friends when things go into hyper-drive. My mom is a full time mom 24/7 and it’s just amazing. And yes, the sweetest thing.

Blui Arriola (model / entrepreneur) – I’m an adult now but my mom never fails to surprise me. She bought me Skittles and placed it on my study table. I just saw the Skittles when I arrived home.

Giebeth Alcoriza (model / young wife) – My perspectives changed when I got married. I used to recent my mom doting on me but now, looking back, I appreciate how she finds time to watch me perform when I was in grade school and the lullabies that she sings to me are just the sweetest!

Marc Arens (model / nurse) – I’m now practicing my profession so I encounter patients giving birth. I realize it’s not easy carrying a child for nine months and giving birth. My mom, giving birth to me, is the sweetest!

Anna Alcaraz (model / architect) – My mom is a very busy woman. So every time she cooks for us is the sweetest thing. And she’s an excellent cook.
