CEBU, Philippines - 88DB.com, the country’s pioneer media classified and online service portal, with the launch of its newest key community which is Travel & Tourism, has appointed the Cebu Travel and Tours Association to be the pioneer association in their travel portal. This partnership was also sealed with its sponsorship of the official CTTA website, www.ctta.org.ph.
CTTA, a non-profit organization, is a respected local travel organization composed of 36 competent, DOT-accredited travel agencies and has existed significantly for 20 years. Through its partnership with a reputable online ad site that has a global coverage, CTTA affiliates can be viewed in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
“One unique feature of the millennium is the birth of internet travel. Over the last decade, we have witnessed a drastic shift from manual operation to fully automated transaction or e-commerce. The internet has greatly improved the information-dissemination, advertising, delivery of service and convenience. The online technology has created lucrative opportunities in travel. From the traditional ticketing agent, we now evolve into a more comprehensive travel agent with focus on travel advising and planning – to be a total service provider, in other words, we will take the internet as a partner, not a threat,” current CTTA president Desiree Queblatin Chan articulated during the 88DB.com and CTTA networking night held at Bistro Ecila, Ayala The Terraces.
“With the launch of the CTTA website comes the commitment to use it to help pursue our goals for a better travel industry. With the help of 88DB.com, our valuable partner in this endeavor, CTTA will help its members maximize the benefits of internet to create business opportunities,” added Chan. The website contains the organization’s latest updates, announcements/advisories, a list of officers and members, travel agencies links, calendar of events, forums and member’s log-in access – basically what a travel organization finds useful.
According to 88DB.com general manager Racquel Cagurangan, through 88DB.com’s Travel and Tourism, globetrotters are given a heads-up on travel information, products and services necessary for a fuss-free jaunt. With CTTA affiliates’ products and services visible via the CTTA website and included in 88DB.com, a great influx of tourists flying in to Cebu is expected.
“Together we will conquer yet another challenge that the travel agents will not be dislodged or eat out by technology but rather survive grow and profit with it,” Chan concluded.
Hopefully, today, the website goes online.
