The Tie That Binds Cultures Together At The Cebu City Sports Club

CEBU, Philippines - Omnilogy Inc. (www.omnilogyinc.org) in cooperation with the Arts Council of Cebu, Peace Philharmonic Philippines Foundation, Cebu Music Learning Center, Rotary Club of Talisay and YMCA Cebu is hosting a concert entitled “The Tie That Binds Cultures Together: a Salon Night with Ulises Solano and Racquel Borromeo” to be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Cebu City Sports Club on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 8:00 PM.

A Benefactor’s Gala event will also be held in the Marcelo B. Fernan Press Center on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 8:00PM featuring Ulises Solano and Racquel Borromeo. Seating is limited. To RSVP, please contact Omnilogy Inc. or the Arts Council of Cebu.

Our duo will also conduct Voice and Piano Masterclasses/ workshops on Saturday, February 13, 2010, and Monday, February 15, 2010 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Cebu Normal University along Jones Ave., Cebu City. 

Workshops and masterclasses are open to the public for observation. This series will feature performances, workshops and master classes in piano and voice by pianist Racquel Borromeo (US/Philippines) and tenor Ulises Solano (US/Costa Rica) as part of the Bridging the Gap Series Festival, which aims to bridge the gap across and between cultures, and to utilize the arts as a vehicle for human and social development. They will be performing with the Peace Philharmonic Philippines Youth Ensemble and the Cebu Music Chamber Orchestra in a finale featuring the song “Payapang Daigdig” by National Artist Felipe de Leon, arranged for our performers by guest conductor Gideon Bendicion. 

Omnilogy’s mission is to save and revive the classical music conservatories in Cebu, and in the process, increase patronage of arts and culture in Cebu City. Bridging the Gap is a series of concerts and workshops aimed at bringing people together in appreciation of music and the arts, regardless of social status or cultural background.
