Yu-Yu Tei introduces affordable meals

CEBU, Philippines - Patrons have a choice of set meals depending on the number of people in the group.

The basic set is intended for a maximum of three persons and would already include chahan (Japanese-style fried rice), yasai itame (mixed vegetables), aji furai (fish tempura), and three-mix sashimi with salmon, tuna, and squid.

If there are four persons in the group, then the second set would be the most appropriate. This would already include the dishes above, except for aji furai. The meal would also include a serving of gyoza (Japanese dumpling), mixed tempura (with vegetables and choice seafood) and karai karaage or fish fillet tempura.

The third set serves a maximum of six persons and would include the basic set plus wafu tonkatsu (deep fried pork chop), tori karaage (fried chicken), kani kama salad (crabstick salad with mango and lettuce) and ika tempura (squid tempura). The set also does not include aji furai.

For a maximum of eight persons, the group can enjoy the fourth set that would include the basic set plus kakiage tempura (vegetable tempura), mixed maki, asparagus bacon maki, tori karaage, and karai karaage. All meals include one round of iced tea.

Bernadette Kawakami, owner of Yu-Yu Tei said that the value meals is a way for the restaurant to show their gratefulness to their loyal customers, who proved to them that good food will rise above any crisis. This she said is the reason why they were able to reach one year despite the many challenges that beset the economy and their unfavorable location.
