CEBU, Philippines - The fun carried on at the San Diego Sea World! Spending my time in a theme park consisting of breathtaking rides and amazingly trained animals of all sorts, my love for these creatures does not stop there.
Snagging the front row seats to watch Shamu the orca whale, I wacthed the star of the show perform live with giant screens at the massive water tank. It was the greatest idea since many of us were planning on getting soaked! What fun it was with the water being the very least of our problems! Can’t get enough of Shamu? You may choose to dine with him exclusively by his private pool for a more treasured experience (reservations are highly recommended).
The members of the familiarization group – Daphne Yu of Cebu Fortune Travel and her mother Beverly, Jeanne Teh of Global Link Travel together with her husband Andrew and children, Adrian, Alliyah and Aaron, Mary Hyacinth Capacio-Saavedra of Greenline Travel, Charles Bryan Ho of ELS Travel, Maria Teresita Tatara of ATJ Travel and Tours Incorporated, Glenda Te-Diaz of Jewel Skies, Marilyn Cordeno of Arco Travel and Tours, Edith “Ditas” Pestano of Grand Hope Travel, Maria Enmajer “Majer” Mariano of Leisure Travel, Macrina Fuentes of Orientwind Travel, Marisol Barria of Marist Royal Travel and this writer representing The Freeman together with our travel/tour operator, Eugene Cheng of Unilink Incorporated and his son, Ellison, all had such a incredible time!
Capturing the vibrant energy, we watched an animal show consisting of highly trained dogs, cats, pigs, ducks and birds doing all sorts of tricks at the Pets Stadium. After the show, I realized what these beautiful creatures can do, how each one of them truly have a mind of their own. I only wanted to run across to grab one and take it home, but ofcourse, that wasn’t at all possible.
Apart from being the world of animals, inside the park lies the garden of discovery, the Gardens of Sea World where its landscape truly plays a huge role in enhancing many of our experiences. The gardens reminded me of how Mother Nature has made our world so beautifully picturesque.
The Sesame Street Bay of Play comes to Sea World brought us back to our very own childhood. This experience includes a play area, family-friendly rides and a Sesame Street 4-D movie for lights, camera, imagination! Plus, you get to meet the gang up close!
Other fascinating rides include the Journey to Atlantis and the Shipwreck Rapids – do expect to get wet! An elevated view of the park has got to be the Skytower Ride and Bayside Skyride (you may purchase a combined ticket for these two attractions at a lesser price). Not to miss is the Clydesdale Hamlet (to witness extra large working horses) and the Seaport Marketplace located directly beside it. Or how about making some friendly interaction with the rest of the sea animals?
Sharing a good time, we treated ourselves to souvenirs and postcards as well as tasty treats – funnel cake fries (I must admit that I have never seen or tasted anything like it) and sticks of cinnamon churros. Lunch at the Calypso Bay Smoke House inside the park was complimentary, thank you very much!
Here at Sea World, you will make that wonderful connection with these living creatures big and small. As animals put a smile on many of our faces, this place is definitely for you and for everyone at all ages! What a fun yet very educational adventure! So, thinking of staying for another day? Well, I’ll be seeing you again next week…
