Fresh seafood at Imperial Palace's Coral Restaurant
CEBU, Philippines - If fresh seafood in a cozy restaurant by the sea is your idea of a sumptuous dinner with family, friends or loved ones, Coral at the Imperial Palace is the place to be. Coral is Imperial Palace’s signature restaurant serving the freshest seafood.
Executive Western Chef Mathias Olsson, who is in charge of Coral, said that the restaurant will serve mainly Asian seafood dishes like the Singapore Chili Crab and lobster and scallop-based dishes.
“We have live seafood tanks exclusively for the restaurant so our diners can also have a say in how they want their seafood cooked,” he said.
Chef Mathias has worked all over Asia and is already familiar with the Asian palate. He admits that he is still getting used to the Filipino palate, though.
Items that are worth trying when dining at Coral are the Russian Caviar, Fresh Lobster Spring Rolls, Tartar of Tuna, Seafood Ravioli, Chili Crabs and Poached King Prawns.
Coral is open from 6p.m. to 12 midnight. The restaurant has live entertainment Fridays and Saturdays. – Quennie S. Bronce
