Happenings around town
Café Laguna, which is now on its 15th year, Laguna Café Garden, on its 10th year, and Café Laguna SM, on its 1st year, held a joint anniversary celebration.
Lita Urbina, the moving spirit and the lady behind the Café Laguna chain of restaurants, was on her feet albeit having just recovered from a broken leg. Workaholic ever since the birth of the first Café Laguna, Lita can proudly say that, “if we really work that hard, God will always reward us with a tremendous blessing!”
On the day of the anniversary celebration, Lita invited Cebu City First Lady Margot Osmeña to a Fiesta Buffet where all the menus of the three restaurants were served. And it was exhilarating and fulfilling. Thanks, Lits, and more power!

JCCCI’s Anniversary Boodle. And speaking of anniversaries, the Jesu Christi Community of Cebu, Inc. had its 26th anniversary as a charismatic community, serving hundreds of poor people through its feeding programs, weekly and monthly free clinic and sending poor but deserving students to college. At present, we have about 30 students taking various courses in college. Thanks to our energetic Spiritual Director Fr. Socrates Saldua whose selfless efforts were concentrated to helping our poor students.
To cap the anniversary affair was a “boodle” dinner which completely brought the house down!
